3. For a commercial system what size Generator Set would be required? What is the cost for such a system?

Find enclosed General guidelines to power requirements. These are rough guidelines only. A load survey must be performed by an energy professional such as a member of our evaluation team to factor in many issues that effect system design and equipment supplied.

Costs range from $250 to $1,200 per Kilowatt installed which will depend on many site and distribution factors.

4. What type of fuel should I use diesel, propane or natural gas?

This will depend on the reasons you’re installing your system. We generally recommend diesel because in the event of an earthquake or disaster such as a fire the utility will shutoff the natural gas supply. For propane you are at the mercy of a fuel company that may have their resources stretched for refueling. With diesel you can rent an additional tank and fill and transport fuel much easier than the other alternatives.

5. How can changing my Electrical Distribution benefit my facility?

Surveying where your energy dollars are spent can change usage patterns and provide cost savings. Peak loads can be reduced saving on very expensive demand and reservation charges. Power quality can be monitored to assure that the utility is supplying the proper power quality. Loads can be remotely monitored and controlled. Voltage distribution changes can be made that will provide attractive returns on investment. Talk to one of our energy professionals for a survey today.
