 Micro-Turbine
EquipmentMicro-Turbines are small power plants designed to parallel with each other and the Utility for prime or stand by operation. What allows Micro-turbines to generate power at a very small weight and size is a small turbine that rotates at speeds up to 116,000 r.p.m. In the 45kW system. With one moving part they have greater longevity and much less maintenance than reciprocating systems. Micro-Turbines offer the same benefits as their bigger cousins used in large power plants and jets. Some of the benefits are as follows: They are clean burning. Measured emission levels of the flue gas are very low; when burning natural gas they achieve single digit NOx levels with virtually no unburned Hydrocarbons. This is significantly better than reciprocating engines. The weight and size of the Micro-turbine is 20% of the weight and size of a traditional reciprocating generator set. Harmonic distortion is 3% or less for very clean electrical output. Micro-turbines can run on a variety of fuels such as Natural gas, propane, Diesel, Kerosene, Methanol, Ethanol and Jet fuel. Reliability is great with only one moving part the micro-turbine provides much greater reliability than traditional technologies now in use. Life cycle is 40,000 to 75,000 hours with proper maintenance for the system. Competitive Price. The micro-Turbine has a slightly larger capital cost than a comparable sized reciprocating system.
